David Mackay

At the helm of one of LJHooker’s top five offices in NSW, David MacKay is not reluctant to share some of his secrets to success: lead by example, stay in it for the long haul and be prepared to work seven days a week on behalf of your clients. He’s been doing just that for 35 years as Director and Principal of the Avalon office, and the exceptional team he’s assembled is a testament to his philosophy. David runs the organisation with an ‘open door’ policy, available to both agents and property managers on a daily basis; his real estate acumen and decades of sales experience add considerable heft to the entire team’s outreach and success.

In 2014 David was recognized for his success being awarded the “Sir Leslie Hooker Award Recipient for Australia”, LJ Hooker’s highest achievement.

In 2012 David was also awarded “Franchise owner of the year NSW and ACT”, for running a highly successful business.

Home, family and the community are David’s most important touchstones; he often considers how fortunate he is to live and work in this magnificent setting on the peninsula. Making the area his home for the last 35 years, LJ Hooker is the major sponsor for the Avalon surf lifesaving club, active fundraiser for Hands across the water children’s orphanage and supporter of local schools and sporting organizations.
